New Policies Will Not Take Effect January 1, 2008
At the 2007 FairShare Vacation Owners Association Annual Meeting in May, we announced some new policies to become effective January 1, 2008. Those new policies included:
Limited Account Points will be eliminated. All points returned to owner accounts from a cancelled reservation will be Cancelled Reservation Points.
Guest Confirmation fees will increase from $25 to $49.
All FairShare Plus Members will receive 1 complimentary Guest Confirmation each calendar year; VIP Members will receive 5; Gold VIP will receive 10; and Platinum VIP Members will receive 15 for each million of eligible points.
With one of our top priorities over the past year being to ensure the new online reservation system is made available to our owners by the beginning of 2008, adequate resources were not available to program these policy changes. Therefore, we will not be instituting these changes at this time. Please be assured that we will provide you notice well in advance before these changes go into effect.
We do, however, have some changes in our optional-use transaction fee structure. The following small increases are being implemented beginning February 1, 2008. These fees only affect those owners who choose to utilize the transactions and are being increased to keep the overall program fees low for the majority of owners who do not elect to use the specific transaction.
The fee for checks returned for insufficient funds is being increased from $15 to $25.
The fee for purchasing housekeeping credits beyond those allotted will increase from $1.50 per credit to $2.25 per credit.
The fee for reservation transactions beyond those allotted will increase from $25 to $30.
The service fee for use of the Points Credit Pool will increase from $25 to $30.
Billing charges will increase from $5 to $6.
Your understanding of the delay in the above rule changes and the small increase in optional-use fees is very much appreciated.
