Fire at Bonnet Creek
Thursday Dec 2, 2004 - A fire occured in the only standing tower (exluding the office tower) at Bonnet Creek on Thursday.
Around 10:00pm Thursday fire alarms went off and guests were told to evacuate the tower as soon as possible. Word has it that a guest on the second floor started a kitchen fire which somehow turned into an electrical fire. The sprinkler system then was tripped for floors 1 through 3. The third floor also lost electrical power.
Many guests were later escorted by firemen to gather their belongings and be relocted to nearby hotels. 12 units have been closed indefinitely due to water damage. If you have an upcoming reservation at Bonnet Creek, it would be advisable to call Bonnet Creek to check its status.
